About

About Our Firm

Preston & Malcom is Walton County’s oldest and most respected law firm, with a long history of successfully resolving legal disputes for individuals, businesses and corporations. The company was originally formed in 1922 by A. Morris Kelly in Monroe, Georgia. In 1948, William Lee Preston joined Mr. Kelly at this location, following his return from active military duty.

In 1962, Terrell W. Benton, Jr., joined the firm, and it later became known as Preston & Benton. In 1971, C. Thomas Allgood, Jr., joined the firm, and it became known as Preston & Allgood.

Russell Power Preston joined the firm in 1984, and practiced with William Lee Preston for eight years as The Preston Law Firm.
Eugene M. Benton joined as a partner in 1993, and the firm became known as Benton & Preston. When R. Michael Malcom joined the firm in 2000, the name of the firm was changed to Benton, Preston, & Malcom.

In 2005, Eugene M. Benton left the practice when he was elected to serve as a Superior Court Judge on the Alcovy Judicial Circuit and the firm became known as it is today. In that same year, Paul L. Rosenthal joined the firm.

Since then Preston & Malcom has continued to grow, offering an even wider range of services through the addition of associates Sally S. Jarratt, now a partner with the firm, Jesse S. Couch, and Donald A. Wright, III.
